Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim came out last Friday, and so far the game's been great. The graphics are phenomenally better than it's predecessor, the game play mechanics are strong, and the story is wonderful.
There are two main quests, both of which are relatively short in terms of rpgs, but there are so many well-fleshed out side quests that you don't really have to worry about running out of interesting things to do for quite a while. Completing everything would take well over 100 hours of play, and when your doing it, you actually feel like you're playing the game, rather than just completing a mind-numbingly dull task.
Skyrim is an open world rpg, and while there are re-used textures, and a number of NPCs have the same body type, despite being completely different races, the game makes up for it with beautiful scenery.
Overall, Skyrim is well worth the $60.00 price tag. I recommend picking it up if you enjoy reading fantasy novels, as it's basically like living in one.
